UFO spotted over Texas nuclear weapons facility in 2015?
Newly released Pentagon files detailing investigations into unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP) include a curious incident near one of Texas’ most sensitive facilities.
Naturally, a strange, shape-shifting object flying over a high-security Texas facility has raised some eyebrows in Space City. The staff at Locktopia Escape Room Houston couldn’t resist having a little fun with the news.
“We’ve been asked whether the mysterious UAP might have escaped from one of our games,” the team joked. “We can officially confirm it was not one of the creatures that ‘were never meant for human eyes’ from our Gateway escape room, nor did it emerge from Aurora. Our guests are still safely keeping those mysteries contained.”

According to the documents, security personnel detected an unidentified object over the Pantex Plant near Amarillo on September 1, 2015. Pantex is the nation’s only nuclear weapons assembly and disassembly facility, according to the Texas Department of State Health Services.
The incident is documented in a report titled Pantex Unidentified Object Incident Report, which describes a diamond-shaped object hovering over the facility before slowly traveling north at an estimated 10 to 15 mph.
Eyewitness accounts say the object measured approximately four feet tall and two feet wide at its base, tapering toward the top. Witnesses disagreed on its color, with some describing it as black while others reported seeing blue, red or silver.
“On September 1, 2015 at approximately 0710 hours, the Pantex Ground Surveillance Radar (GSR) detection system identified an unknown flying object flying in a non-threatening manner west of Pantex facilities in a northerly trajectory,” the report stated. “It was noted that the object seemed to increase in speed and changed direction as it was being followed. It should be noted that at no time did the object appear to be threatening in nature nor did it come to close proximity to any sensitive assets. The object remained over open unpopulated areas of the plant prior to it proceeding offsite.”
The object was described as behaving in a non-threatening manner and remained over unpopulated areas of the plant. Officials reported that it never approached sensitive assets or restricted areas.
After the object was spotted, plant personnel alerted security, and armed officers followed it by vehicle for several miles before losing sight of it. The sighting prompted Pantex to temporarily increase security measures, including a lockdown of the facility.
Ground surveillance cameras captured grainy images of the object, which were later enhanced by Sandia National Laboratories, the U.S. Department of Energy’s engineering and research laboratory. The facility’s Ground Surveillance Radar (GSR) Tower also recorded video of the incident.
The enhanced images, video, and investigative report were ultimately forwarded to the FBI.
