Houston UFO sightings
Are Houston UFO sightings the reason our fine city earned the alien sounding moniker of “Space City?” Or is it the normally accepted reason that NASA’s Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center is located in the Clear Lake Area?
“UFO enthusiasts might suggest that the concentration of strange lights in the sky here are the direct result of the presence of our expansive space industry,” Garner wrote in 2017. “Maybe aliens know Houston makes the best breakfast tacos in the solar system.”
Garner says the KHOU 11 weather departments receives viewer reports of strange lights in the sky every year.
The only other Texas city mentioned is Dallas, which comes in at number 7. Myrtle Beach, South Carolina takes the top spot.
Here at Locktopia Escape Room, we like to bring a little UFO and alien excitement with our Gateway game!
Even the Department of Defense is getting in on the act. As the New York Times reported in 2020, the Pentagon has released U.F.O. videos.
That being said, open your SOM1-01 MJ12 Manual (IYKYK) up and let’s start looking at the top 5 Houston UFO sightings in the Bayou City with some even taken from real news media reports.
This UFO sighting goes out to Houston dogs
On April 11, 2008 around 7am, a man recorded a flying saucers while feeding his dogs.
And before you ask, it doesn’t appear that his dog was throwing his bowl in the air simulating an unidentified flying object either.
Rain can’t stop Houston UFO sightings
In August 2014, TV news reports said tweeted photos showed “something floating through the skies over the Houston area” which was circular in nature and appearing to hover at times. And the lights were seen all over the Bayou City!
YouTuber Andrew Peña posted the video he shot during a rain storm that night.
“After 30 sec I reviewed the footage and thought I was seeing ‘Ball-lightning’ and then looked right out my window to catch the lights myself!! The lights (that i saw with my own eyes) were tracing and streaking left and right and in halfcirlcles!!”
“I think the trick in UFO’s is figuring out what else they could be,” Dr. Carolyn Sumners, vice president for Astronomy at the Houston Museum of Natural Science which is nearby to Locktopia, told KPRC 2 reporter Ryan Korsgard. “It’s easy to say that could be the aliens. All the way back to recorded history, there are going to be things we can’t explain. That’s what makes it exciting.”
Downtown Houston UFO sighting or a blimp?
In April 2, 2016, a 30-second clip of video shows a possible UFO over downtown Houston. According to the UK Daily Mail, “the video shows a brightly lit object hovering in the skyline above downtown.”
The UFO observer says the next day, a blimp was in the sky in the same area? Coincidence? Or are extraterrestrials cloaking their ship as a blimp to make some extra advertising money? Hey, interplanetary is not cheap.
Strange formations flashing
In June 2020, mysterious flashing lights were filmed by several Houstonians.
According to TV news reports, “The video above shows the lights hovering in a strange formation, flashing repeatedly.”
Were they drones? Flying saucers? Foo fighters (not the Dave Grohl kind)? UAO (Unidentified Aerial Object)? UFA (Unidentified Flying Aerodyne)? TAV (TransAtmospheric Vehicle)? Or just Elon Musk having fun?
Houston UFO sightings all the way in Katy!
September 18, 2017, around 8:20pm, three UFOs were recorded west of Houston in Katy, TX.
A TV news report claims a surprised driver caught mysterious lights in the sky while travelling north along Texas Highway 99, aka the Grand Parkway, towards Interstate 10 and Highland Knolls.
Were aliens checking out Cinco Ranch to put their younglings in Katy ISD? I’m not willing to mind meld with them to find out!
